ATOMIC 7

Gowns By Edith Head

There isn't a tremendous difference in sound between Atomic 7 and guitarist Brian Connelly's previous instrumental rock trio, Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet. While the Shadowy dudes leaned toward the surf twang of the Astronauts and Ventures, Atomic 7 has a broader scope, touching on spaghetti western and film noir themes, jazzy Latin swingers and rockabilly stomps. The stylistic shifts make the subtle nuances of guitar tone even more crucial, and while Connelly still needs to sort that out in the studio, … Gowns By Edith Head is a mighty impressive debut.
