PHONO-COMB/Fresh Gasoline (Quarterstick):
This is the dangerously raw and twangy Albini-produced debut by Phono-Comb, and what a great record it is too! For those who don't know, the band is comprised of local luminaries Reid Diamond, Don Pyle, Dallas Good and Beverly Breckenridge - who, in all of their various guises, represent around 80 per cent of the coolest music ever to come from our city. Is it any wonder then that Fresh Gasoline burns so bright and shimmers in all the right places? And who else could pull off a cheap and nasty rendition of "Here Come The Warm Jets?"
